Shantui large-tonnage excavators are deeply rooted in South Africa's chrome mines
Nov 03, 2026
Recently, at a chromium mining project site in South Africa, the SITI SE800LCW heavy-duty mining excavator won customer recognition for its exceptional reliability and operational efficiency. This marks another validation of SITI's heavy-duty mining excavators in overseas heavy-duty applications, providing a replicable application model for further large-scale mining equipment to penetrate the African market.
The chromium mining project is located in South Africa, with the mining area divided into multiple zones for separate extraction. Compliant mechanized mining is employed, supported by relatively well-developed ancillary facilities, ensuring stable chromium production and contributing to local employment and the sustainable development of the regional mining economy. The current mining equipment primarily consists of diesel-powered excavators, which handle rock crushing and loading tasks without the use of blasting operations.
The application of the SE800LCW in South African chrome mines further validates the adaptability of SITRUCK's large-tonnage mining excavators under heavy-duty overseas conditions, providing a case study for promoting SITRUCK products in the South African mining market.
From single equipment validation to the promotion of large-scale mining models, and from South African chrome mines to broader African mining markets, SinoPumps is customer demand-oriented, continuously expanding the application boundaries of heavy-duty mining equipment in overseas heavy-load conditions. Focusing on the characteristics of high-hardness and high-load mining operations, SinoPumps will continuously advance the iteration and technological upgrading of large-scale mining products, providing global mining customers with comprehensive solutions through more reliable and efficient equipment, making construction simpler.
